This Christmas Carol was commissioned by the Icelandic State Broadcasting Service for a premiere in the Church of Hallgrímur in Reykjavík on December 22nd 2002, performed by the Motet Choir and its conductor Hörður Áskelsson. The Radio premiere was on Christmas Day the same year. The text is from an old Icelandic manuscript.
