In Vultu Solis was composed in 1980 for concertmaster Guðný Guðmundsdóttir who has played it on many occasions, both in Iceland, the other Nordic countries and the United States.
The piece can be discribed as a slow improvisation, but in the background is discernible some kind of logic. Certain units, or even some sort of elements, lead one to the other without being dictated by any planned rule.
