Spor for alto flute was written for flutist Guðrún S. Birgisdóttir, who premiered the piece at the Sigurjón Ólafsson Museum in Reykjavík in November 2000. The piece is in three movements. The first movement is built on very short motives, which are constantly changing. The second one is built on long singing melodies, which come to a stop now and then, and the third movement is a short scherzo.
